The knot you see on every Tangleknot bag is a little like our own story.
Not entirely straight, and all the better for it.

It came together through travel, friendship, marriage and a few beautifully unexpected turns.

It began with a remarkable material. Originally developed for marine environments and later adopted for outdoor furniture, it was loved for its strength, lightness and ability to withstand the elements.

After years spent designing, travelling and working together, we began to wonder: could this become the perfect everyday bag? One that travels well, carries everything, stands up to everyday life and still looks beautiful wherever it ends up.

Today, Tangleknot is run by Hilary, Chip and Mats. Three people with different perspectives, woven together by a shared belief that useful things should also be beautiful.

The result is a bag made for life in motion. For airport dashes and market mornings. Garden tours, beach afternoons and unexpected detours. For the things you planned to pack, and the treasures you collect along the way.
